Budget Funding changes - Melbourne Forum 18 June
Presented by the Australian Directors Guild, the Independent Producers Initiative,
the Australian Writers Guild
and
RMIT's School of Applied Communication
Want to know what impact the new Federal Budget will have on the film industry? What happened to 10BA? What is the new film agency? How will it operate? What do all of these changes mean to you as a filmmaker?
Having had some time to mull over the detail that exists, a forum of industry experts will consider the implications of what was announced in the Federal Budget on May 8. They will discuss what is known, outline where clarification is still required and identify business models that could make it work for you.
Following the discussion, an audience Q&A will provide you with a chance to have your questions answered and also reveal those issues that require further clarification by Government and those that require further lobbying at an industry level.
Speakers include:
Robert Connolly (Producer - Romulus My Father, The Boys / Director - The Bank)
Richard Harris (Executive Director - Australian Directors Guild)
James Hewison (CEO - Australian Film Institute)
Sue Maslin (Producer - Hunt Angels, Japanese Story)
